For the last couple of months I have noticed an incredible
response to the new concept of “Teatoxing” on social media,
particularly on Instagram. One brand that has taken the world by storm is
Bootea! Bloggers and celebrities are ditching their traditional breakfast tea
brews and instead opting for herbal infusions, constantly boasting about the wonderful
effects of these magical natural formulas. I have been intrigued for quite some
time, and more or less a week ago, decided to jump on the bandwagon and give “Teatoxing”
a try for myself (think of me as your guinea pig!).

The aim and purpose of the Bootea Teatox is to aid
weight-loss and boost energy levels, allowing you to get back on track with a
healthy and well balanced diet, and an active lifestyle. The tea eases the
body’s natural process of elimination by removing unwanted toxins and built up
waste matter from the body, via the lungs, kidneys, bowels and skin. Bootea
have also created a flexible eating plan (HERE) to optimise the detoxification
process.

The ingredients combined within the tea blend are renowned
for centuries of health and well-being benefits; the pyramid tea bags ensure the
best infusion, allowing all the nutrients and flavours in the blend to come
through. All of the ingredients are pure, natural and completely free of
preservatives.

The Bootea Teatox is designed to:
– Increase your metabolism
– Cleanse and detoxify
– Burn calories
– Regulate blood sugar levels
– Assist in the digestion of food
– Suppress appetite
– Improve skin health

Inside the box there are two separately sealed bags with one
tea that you drink every morning, known as the Daytime Detox, and a tea that is
meant to be consumed every other evening known as the Bedtime Cleanse. There’s
also a full set of instructions as to how to use the tea, in order to get the
most out of its benefits.

The Daytime Detox combines “Chinese Oolong tea, Mate
leaves, Ginger root, Fennel seeds, Lemongrass, Dandelion leaf, Ginseng root,
Gotu Kola leaves and Nettle leaves
“. This sensational blend contains a
small amount of caffeine as well as other natural stimulants which leaves you
feeling energised, motivated and ready for the day ahead. If you have not had
green tea previously, then this earthly blend may be slightly peculiar in taste;
if that’s the case, I’d recommend adding a natural sweetener or other flavour
enhancing substances such as honey or lemon.

The Bedtime Cleanse on the other hand combines “Senna
leaves, Peppermint leaves, Fenugreek sees, Liquorice root, Burdock root,
Hawthron leaves, Valerian root and Psyllium seeds
“. The Bedtime Tea has a
very pronounced peppermint taste which provides a calming and soothing effect,
helping me to feel relaxed just before going to bed. The Bedtime Cleanse should
be taken every second night for the duration of the teatox, as it will most
likely induce a laxative effect within 8 hours of consumption, depending on
your digestive system. It is therefore advised to try the tea for the first
time on a weekend or day off, in order to allow yourself some time to see how
your body reacts with the active ingredients of the tea blend.

Just a week into the Bootea Teatox, I have noticed some very
obvious results! I feel less bloated, my energy levels have soared, I haven’t experienced
any new breakouts in my skin and I have also had better nights of sleep. My
goal is not about weightloss, but more of a general body cleanse and improved
digestion. I still have three more weeks worth of teabags to consume, so I’m
excited to continue to see the benefits of the teatox!

The Bootea Teatox is available to order either directly from
their website (HERE) where there is also a wider selection of product
available, or from Holland and Barret (HERE) where at the moment there are some
fantastic deals on the 14 or 28 day teatox (e.g. buy one get one half price
across the Bootea range).

Have you tried BooteaTeatox? Or is there another brand that you would recommend?

Lots of Love, Ana

I've heard mixed reviews on this. Some people felt sick, some didnt.

I'm not sure it's something I would try personally.

Oooh! I've been wanting to try teatoxing but haven't quite gotten around to it just yet. Like you, I'm going for a general health improvement, too, and it's so great that this has worked so well for you!

I tried a two-week teatox and I loved it! It definitely helped with the bloated feeling but I don't think I'll do it again.

I've heard some bad things about these kind of teatoxs… But then again there are others that are more positive about it like yourself. I'm curious: I must give it a go myself!

I've definitely heard a lot of hype about this! I wanted to get into, but was sort of taken aback by how much tea cost! It seemed like something I could easily DIY myself and buy the tea for much cheaper at the market. I'm glad to hear it's been working great for you though!
