As a result of my current hectic work schedule, I have put
very little effort into getting dressed up. It’s very hard to put an outfit
together when your mind is in constant overdrive – have I done this, have I
done that, what is there still left to do, and what is next on the list? My head
has been all over the place!

To keep things simple in the morning, I have recently found
myself reaching out for the same kind of clothing items again and again. My
current go-to uniform as it should be described, is fairly minimalistic in terms
of style and mainly consists of a safe palette of whites, blacks and nudes.

What’s important to remember when opting for an
all-same-colour outfit, is to consider the texture contrasts between materials.
For example, overlapping a casual knit jumper over a silky dress with lace
detailing, or complementing a velvet clutch with a sequined skirt. The
differentiation of fabric and detailing, brings an added dimension to the whole
block colour outfit.

Pictured above I am wearing a tux style jacket from Zara,
and I matched it with a pair of leather trousers. As far as accessories go,
don’t be tempted to overdo it; I wore my brand new large faced watch from ASOS,
and stacked this gorgeous gold bangle on top from Kaytie Wu. Regardless of its
simplicity, this outfit is modern and sophisticated, and each individual piece stands out and shines.

What are your thoughts on the minimalistic trend If you have any tips please share!

Lots of love, Ana
