GRWM | Night Out Routine

GRWM | Night Out Routine
Hi my loves, I hope you’re all well!

For today’s blog post I wanted to share with you my usual routine when getting ready for a night out. This typically includes alot of last minute rushing around, plenty of mess and running late stress!

6.03 pm: Time to start getting ready for tonight! I’ll be meeting the girls at 8:30 pm for dinner and cocktails, and then we’re hitting the club for a night of boogying, can’t waaait! Two hours should be plenty of time to get ready, so I pre-book my Uber to pick me up at 8 pm.

6.05 pm: One of us girls is bound to be running late, so maybe it’s a good idea to have something to eat before I leave home… *makes rice cakes with Philadelphia cream cheese and smoked salmon, yum!*

6.23 pm: It’s time for a shower. I lather my body with my usual shower gel, and with a bath mitt, I exfoliate my body paying special attention to any areas that are commonly more prone to dryness (e.g. knees, elbows, legs).

6.31 pm: Before a night out, I always like to treat my hair to a mask. Recently I’ve been OBSESSED with the Olaplex No.2 treatment – it has made a world of a difference to the condition of my hair, especially after months of regular bleaching to maintain my previous blonde hair. I shampoo and condition my hair as normal, and then I leave the treatment on for a minimum of 5 minutes.
I’ve been trying to grow my hair for quite some time now, but to no avail as it’s refusing to grow past my chest. Every couple of days, I like to use a scalp serum that supposedly helps to promote hair growth. I haven’t noticed much of a difference yet, but I’ve only just started using the product so hopefully, with frequent use, I’ll start to notice a change.
I’m not quite sure how to style my hair for tonight, but I typically like to go for loads of volume! I use the Toni and Guy “Volume plumping whip” cream and massage this on the roots of my hair for an added “oomph!” once blow dried.

6.47 pm: Eeeek, I’ve spent far too long in the shower! It’s time to quickly shave my legs (I use my every day shower gel as opposed to a shaving foam), and once finished, I moisturise my body, brush my teeth and quickly run back to my room to finish getting ready.

7:02 pm: Panic mode has kicked in, I only have 1 HOUR to get ready, eeeek! I have an idea of what I’m wearing tonight – a gorgeous white mini dress from Tobi with gold detailing, love it! I iron the dress, pick a pair of plain nude heels and a matching nude clutch bag. The dress is doing all the talking tonight, so accessories and jewellery will be kept to a minimum.

7:11 pm: I like to dedicate most of my time to makeup when getting ready. Before I begin with my makeup application, I like to prep my face by exfoliating away any dead skin cells by using my PMD, and then I like to follow up with a moisturising face mask (I leave this on for 5 minutes) before I apply my normal skin care products.

7:27 pm: I’m feeling a Glowy bronzed look tonight so I go for a subtle copper smokey eye, dark nude lip and plenty of bronzer! The finishing touch is the highlighter in the inner corners of the eyes, my cupid bow and my cheeks.

7:45 pm: With only 15 minutes to spare before I have to leave the house, I do a very rough job of blow drying my hair. I wanted to go for a sleeked-back high ponytail, but due to the time constraint, I simply don’t have enough time to straighten my hair. I settle for a plait instead that takes me no longer than 2mins to braid.

7:55 pm: Five minutes to go and there isn’t enough time to paint my nails, argh! Maybe the Uber driver will be kind enough to let me paint them in his car… *picks any random nail polish and puts inside clutch bag*

8:03 pm: My Uber has arrived! I quickly chuck on my dress, put my heels on (there’s no time for tights, I’ll just have to bear the cold tonight!), grab my clutch, coat, and I’m finally out of the door. Phew, I made it!

I came a cross your blog through Instagram and have already bookmarked it!
One quick question: what did you use on your lower lashes? Anastasia Beverly Hills Dipbrow pomade in “Medium Brown” and Maybelline mascara?
